Franc our lead plumber brings over 15 years experience in plumbing maintenance and clearing complex drainage issues. More recently Franc has worked in a fast paced large plumbing firm completing up to 5 blockages every day with a proven track record of success.

Drain Express was founded to give property owners an affordable AND thorough experience in maintaining problematic drainage issues in their home. We have worked with too many clients who have hired plumbers in the past who may not have had the right tools/ equipment to raise awareness to the root (no pun intended!) cause of the drain issue or have been overcharged to solve a straight forward issue.

At Drain Express, Franc will camera your home’s drainage system to not just clear the blockages but also show you what is happening below your home. Without a camera inspection you might have only had a small hole punched in a much larger blockage/issue.

We understand that blockages occur when you least expect it and with hygiene and safety at the forefront of your mind, blockage clearing shouldn’t cost the earth at an already stressful time for property owners.

FAQs

  • At Drain Express we use various methods to clear blocked drains depending on the severity and cause of the blockage. Some common techniques include:

Plunging: Using a plunger to create pressure and dislodge the blockage.

Drain Snake/Auger: Inserting a flexible cable with a rotating head into the drain to break up or retrieve the obstruction.

Hydro Jetting: Utilizing high-pressure water to flush out debris and buildup from the pipe walls.

Excavation: Digging up the affected pipe section to physically remove the blockage or replace damaged pipes.

Chemical Solutions: Drain Cleaners: Pouring chemical solutions down the drain to dissolve or break up organic material causing the blockage

  • Homeowners can take several preventive maintenance steps to reduce the likelihood of future drain blockages:

Regular Cleaning: Routinely clean drains by flushing them with hot water to help prevent buildup of grease, soap scum, and other debris.

Use Drain Screens: Install drain screens or strainers in sinks, showers, and tubs to catch hair, food particles, and other debris before they enter the drain pipes.

Dispose of Grease Properly: Avoid pouring cooking grease, oils, or fats down the drain as they can solidify and cause blockages. Instead, dispose of them in the trash after they cool or recycle them if possible.

Be Mindful of What Goes Down the Drain: Avoid flushing items such as sanitary products, paper towels, wipes, and other non-biodegradable materials down the toilet, as they can cause clogs.

Regular Inspections: Conduct periodic inspections of drain pipes for signs of slow drainage or unusual odors, which could indicate the beginnings of a blockage.

Use Enzyme Cleaners: Use enzyme-based drain cleaners regularly to break down organic matter and prevent buildup inside the pipes.

Schedule Professional Inspections: Arrange for professional plumbers to conduct regular inspections of the plumbing system to identify and address potential issues before they escalate into major blockages.
